I've been here since August of '99. I have no idea how long I've been doing TMOTS. A long time. I don't know what I'm going to do after the show goes off the air. I don't really want to stop. It's a pain to actually write, but I really like reading the replies. I'm glad I added the Bonus Question too. It really adds some variety, now that it's just the same 5 movies over and over.

I never would have imagined it, considering how you've pretty much memorized the entire bboard.
And I'll bet you'll be shocked to hear I have a real-life interest in Ethics. In fact, I'm taking a few Ethics classes. Not all at once, but I had regular ethics last semester. This semester it's religious ethics. Next year it's probably going to be the sex ethics class. I believe most of the other ethics classes are being cancelled due to budget cuts. Hmph! My current Ethics professor's name is Joel. I don't think he's our Joel though, because his last name and his appearance are completely different from those of the Joel we know and love. But it does make me wonder. If the MST characters taught classes, what do you think they would teach?
I loved those CPFace Watches Gumby posts. I didn't start reading them until he was about halfway through though, so I missed a bunch. I'm going to have to check that webpage.

but I've got an idea, Lita...
When MST3K goes off the air, how about starting the SciFi schedule over again? Sure, some people haven't seen those episodes, but they could answer the bonus question still. That way, you could do Moral of the Story for episodes you haven't done in a while, or some that you've never even done. Just a thought.

I was thinking of maybe just picking a theme of the week, and having people just pick a movie they want to do that relates to that theme, like I often do on weeks when Scifi chooses not to show an episode. I've seen quite a few of the episodes, so it could work. But I might also run out of ideas. I need to think about it. Your idea is pretty good.

That's a good question! I think Pearl would teach P.E. or be a lunchlady. Both occupations cause torture in the minds of their adolescent victims!
Mike would be an English teacher, seeing as he liked Hamlet *so* much (Blech!), and his intellectual yet scheming personality.
Dr. Forrester would, of course, be the science teacher. And Frank would probably be that kid who is always the test dummy. Poor Frank just can't get a break!
Tom would be the history teacher, taking the kids out for spins in the Time Machine and letting them injure their favorite historical figures!
And Crow would be the principal, the crazy person who hired these folks in the first place!
My silly thoughts! Okay, which person do you think would be the best candidate for President and why?

Of course, our country would be screwed all to hell in the first week.
As for who would be least likely to get us all blown up, I'd have to go with Gypsy. She runs the SOL, I think she could run the country. She's really smart, she just acts dumb because she's putting all her available intelligence into keeping M&J&TB alive. The bots are too flighty, they have too many mood swings. The Mads are too evil (yes, I know. Politicians are all evil anyway. I don't care.). Mike is a nice guy, but he's blown up three planets. I don't want him running my country. Joel would be a good Vice-President.

I hate Ovaltine. It tastes really gross. I hate all those medicine ads. I don't trust my limited amount of medical knowledge enough to diagnose myself. If something is wrong with me, I really think it's my doctor who should decide what I take.
I love those ads where they show people doing something the old way, and then the new better way with their product. And the version where the people don't use the product is in black and white, and the people are having so much trouble! I feel so bad for those people! They can't shave their legs without getting horrible gashes and scars, they can't drain their pasta without spilling it all over the kitchen, they can't hammer nails without hitting their fingers or denting the wall, they can't paint things, they can't figure out how to work screwdrivers, they can't cook omelets, they can't braid their hair, and they can't find a soda in the fridge when they want one. I left the second gramps went to bed, so anything that may have been damaged or stolen was damaged or stolen after I left. I think as I was going I saw a really big unshaven guy tiptoe past wearing a striped shirt, and a hat, and he was carrying a bag with a big dollar sign on it.
Tork, I never personally owned Rampage, but I rented it once. Does that count? I figure that Nintendo is no longer selling the NES or the SNES or its games. They won't lose any profit by my downloading them. It's not like there's any chance I'm going to buy them used. I don't have an emulator for the Gameboy or the N64, because Nintendo still has the possibility of making money off them. BTW Earthbound is one of the greatest SNES games ever (I do have the cartridge for that one). It's right up there with Chrono Trigger and Zelda. I downloaded Earthbound Zero (Mother?), but I didn't play it much.
Ok. I'm done talking about that for now. I don't want everybody to find out I'm really a geek! -{8'B

Aw, heck! The two greatest injustices in video game history:
1) There was no Mother 3. Man, why do you think I have a N64 in the first place!!! Both Zeldas were way to short, ditto for DK64, there was no sequel to Mario 64, those joystick thingies were fragile...
2) On the flip side, the sequel to Chrono Trigger pissed me off sooooooo much. Party topic: There is no cross and there is epecially no chrono in Chrono Cross. Discuss among yourselves.
I swear, the people who made CC must of hated the original. The original had great characters, fun events (I love the millenial fair), and one of the most memoral events in video game history. (Forget FF6's opera, my favorite scene in RPG history is The Trial. It's was such a shock to see your innocent actions used against you.) And instead of slipping into another dimension to fight battles, you stood on the same screen! Plus the reason why I played it in the first place: Time Travel.
Allow me to repeat myself.
Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel Time Travel
CT is the only game I can think of that really makes that theme work. Not just for one or two controlled "events" but you actually have a chance to change history some what.
And for me CaveRimmer will always look like Ayla, even if it turns out that she's not supposed to.
CC, however, ugh, argh and several BLAHs! It has over 40 playable characters. NONE OF THEM ARE MEMORABLE OR LIKABLE. In fact, the only memorable characters in the entire game are the COMEDY RELIEFs. Known as Salt and Pepper, one of them always says, "Shake it", and the other always places -ly at the end of a word and then repeats the word. ( "I'm sorrily sorry, sir." ) They are probably the only thing about the game (graphics don't count) that the *Great* Squaresoft got right! They also kill off every character from the original!!!
While there are no random battles, you end up slipping to a similar but very different looking battlefield to fight. Gee, just like every other RPG ever made! And while the original had six different worlds, this one has one. Well, actually it has two, but there both the same. Long story short, this game actually rips off the Light World/Dark World theme from Zelda 3, except it's more like two 90% IDENTICAL Light Worlds so you never know which dimension you should be in to advance the game. Plus Zelda 3 didn't suck.
While the first game was fun, this game takes itself seriously and puts stupid morals in it. Other races of people like dwarves and Demi-Humans and fairies, who I guess just magically appeared during the decade between both games, are shown as closer to earth and therefore "good" races. Human are bad because, well, there always doing mean stuff. For example, you need to kill a rare animal to save a poisoned ally. The game goes into to "Star Trek sledgehammer moral mode" and has the dwarves tell you that you have hunted those animals into extinction and now have destroyed the forest and why can't humans realize what they are doing is wrong and they should be kind to mother earth blah blah blah... And then the dwarves go and slaughter the fairies for a new home! The fairies (and the game) points the finger at humans!!!(?)! It never questions the dwarves actions! And, apparently, you're not supposed to think that maybe the rare animals were hunted into extintion to save the lives of those who were poisoned. UGHH.
But of course, the #1 reason why this reply is so long is that there is NO TIME TRAVEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Imagine Back to the Future 2, with no time travel. Or returning cast members. Played seriously.
"I hate manure!"
Yes this was long, but if there's any game go crazy over, CT is the one.

Yeah, he was there, and he had his friends with him. Perhaps you've heard of them...the Riddler and the Hamburglar!!! They were there, because, um...they're criminals! That's right, and they were also pissed because you keep saying bad stuff about them! And Nabut was there, too, so that's what Tork saw. That's my story. If you don't believe me, talk to my attorny.

I saw the silliest thing today.

There was a movie on today called "Savage Land." It was about these people on a stagecoach who get lost in the wilderness and need to fend for themselves. The gunslinging woman was Vivian Schilling. The little girl was Mercedes McNab (Harmony on Buffy).
It was just as stupid as you might expect it to be too.
